Well it is Saturday morning very early here in Michigan. In fact it is 5:46AM. I am up and have managed to pad into my office with a cup of decaff coffee and sit here and read blogs I have to check out for friends and family and was inspired to write a little myself. I must be honest here all I have done really is scan them very briefly.
Yesterday was Black Friday and tomorrow morning is Easter Sunday. I am planning a small dinner for three or was... lol. My son Joey may have two friends showing up and I won't know if they are actually coming here until they do. But that is okay as my children know all is welcomed at my table.
I will call my other two sons Rich and Tim today and speak with them and their wives and children too. I am so looking forward to talking to them all. I do it almost daily but my children are my loves. My daughter Sarah is here visiting with me for the weekend also and I miss her so much when she is not here as she lives in Grand Rapids.
Which by the way leads me to tell you all that I am moving there, to Grand Rapids soon. It is time to go home. That is always where I think of home as being. I love that city and I think the business will do better there. It is time for Joey bless his heart to have his home to himself again and not have a mom to worry over. But knowing Joey he will worry over me anyway.
Sarah and I plan to get a place together for the time being. We want to live together for a bit. That will again change in time as all things do, but what fun for now! She is my youngest child and an aspiring writer. You can see her blog at http://www.janeridgewood.net.
It's funny... when I re-read what I write I always seem to make us sound like we are up-there-snooty-people, but we are not lol. We are very real, very down to earth, and very much like everyone else who struggles for a living and to make ourselves better people when we can. I guess I just feel blessed with my family and I do thank God often for them and for my blessings because of them.
Hmmmm, yes I said God. I guess I am having a spiritual moment, but it is after all Easter weekend. Imagine giving of one of your own children like God did to save humans who for the most part don't give a rip or believe... I don't know if I personally could do that. Oh some of us have unwilling had to let our sons and daughters serve our countries and die for them... A very hard and very awful thing to have to do. But imagine giving, doing it willingly. All I can do when I really think of it is say thank you and I love you to our maker.
Okay I am done being so deep this early in the morning with a first cup of coffee. And some day if my business takes off or my daughter becomes a noted writer I will have a publicist who says "Oh no you can't talk about God or politics... we must erase this from your blog!" LOL.
On the up and not so religious side of things this weekend, my daughter is into horror movies and loves Robert Englund his movies. So we have already watched Incubus and will be watching another horror film of his later today. I must have a pillow with me to hug and I am a screamer during horror flicks, which is why my children love to watch horror with me. I even scream during the movie Happy Feet... You know the part where the shark leaps up onto the ice ready to bite the penguins? Well I watch that film with my grandsons David, Drake, and Evan an they will say to me "Okay G-ma here it comes now don't scream okay?" And I will assure them all is fine and I won't yell. But coarse I do as they would be so disappointed if I didn't lol. But the really funny thing is that darn part still startles me and the yell isn't totally fake lol. But all three little boys go into fits of giggle because g-ma screamed again.
Well all off I go to start my day... I have a store run to do as I didn't get everything needed for tomorrow yet... So I am a day short and a dollar behind lol.
Happy Easter All

A Quiet Day
Well it is a little after 9AM and the shipping for today is done... Now I know I need to add new products to the store... and I know I need to go over the summer line one more time... but I want and need a quiet day. We all do from time to time. Maybe even just a couple hours of do nothing.
So I have my Jimmy Dean's Sausage Egg Biscuit for my breakfast today in front of me here at the computer along with my decaf coffee, orange juice, banana, and vitamin... So a good healthy start for the day at least. But I am thinking about not working for a bit today... playing hooky so to speak. I have been working since six this morning so it's not total hooky... maybe a good book by Steel, Goldsmith, or Pltcher... The kind you snuggle into for a good read. Yes I think that is what I will do for a least a while and then back to the trenches and work more later lol.
So how are you spending your day today? Hopefully it will be a good one. A nice quiet one.
Warm Hugs

New Handbags & Computer Hoarding
It is early in the morning and that is when I will likely do my blogging lol. I mean it is real early... like 4:52AM here in Michigan where I live. I am normally up by 4:30, am making coffee, and getting ready for my work day. As the owner of Debra Kay's a very small fashion accessory business run by me, as I wear all the hats here and do all the jobs too lol. I do have help from a few others who offer to work from time to time. and I am growing as a small business. So that is a big positive. But back to the early morning thing...
My goal is to blog occasionally in the later part of the day as well and to do it every day, but to be honest and real I will probably be in here a few times a week and only in the very early AM.
So today is a big day here as I am adding Bucket Tote Handbags to the store from Anna Griffin's line. (Like the Leopard one shown below.) These bags have a look and feel all of their own and I love the molded built in handles on the bags. The interiors are lined with a very high quality nylon. The prints on the bags are lush and trendy too. The one below is a Leopard, but there is flowers, designs, and so many nice prints to choose from to meet all our taste buds! Me I am a leopard girl one day and a flower girl the next lol. I always feel that if you have a great pair of earrings on and a kick butt handbag, your good to go!
Also I am hopefully talking again to the owner (actually one of the owners, the same one I confer with) of Vianova. They are a handbag company that makes exquisite bags that are a fantastic quality. (Like the three pictured and shown above in a row). The thing I like about them the most is that they only make like 400 to 500 of any one particular bag and then that is it. No more! This makes the Vianova bag we buy exclusive in a way. The chances you will run into another woman with the same bag as yours is rather nil. The next thing I love is the price factor. The prices are not so far up in the sky that the normal woman with a budgeted income can't afford them. In fact they are very affordable. Running from $29.95 for a wallet to $39.95 for a Cross Body Bag to $59.95 for a handbag, and yes some higher then that. So I have to say that I am excited to be carrying them soon in my store on line at www.debrakays.com.
On the mechanics side of business today I am getting my office ready for a new table my son Joey gave me for Christmas this year and my new computer I just bought. The computer is actually custom. My son (also Joey) is building it for me, so I will get more bang for my buck in the power it has and so forth. I am so excited about it and at the same time worried and exhausted lol. Anyone in business or with a lot of files on their main computer knows what I am taking about... It is a lot of work to transfer from one computer to another... You find yourself deciding if you should keep a file, store it, or dump it. I use a lot of photos in my business too. If people can't see it they can't buy it. But what to keep and what to throw? Am I becoming a hoarder? Like that reality show on TV? I am keeping everything my computer soaks up and never letting it go? Jeez I hope not! But I have to admit my desktop does look like a maze...
Well off to get coffee (its decaf but don't tell my brain) and get my day going.
Have a good one all!
